The gaming systems today have climbed mountains over the systems of old. With RPG (role playing games), music games, first person shooters, the list is long and the game choices are staggering. Choosing a gaming system first would be the best place to start.
Looking at and evaluating the gaming systems offered today isn’t as hard as it seems once you know how to weigh the pros and cons of each system. Check how many different games are compatible with each system and rank the system with a good selection high. See if the system offers online gaming and multiple player options if these choices are important to you. Take a look at the graphics and ask around about ease of use and glitches. Knowing you system takes you more than half way to becoming a video game guru and king.
Starting with some games that include a great tutorial like Dungeons and Dragons Heroes, any movie theme game, with a great one being Haunted Mansion, or Guitar Hero. All these video games include a no nonsense tutorial and are quite self explanatory. Once you get started with a game that tips you along as you play, you will be ready to step it up a notch. Gaming Consoles: the Incredible Entertainment Device
[ 0 Comments ] Posted on 03.04.11 in Console Games

The first generation of exciting gaming consoles hit the market in the early 1970s. Since then, children have been clamouring for the latest gaming devices. These game consoles have come a long way since the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System. Two most popular consoles on the market today are Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3 that deliver not only top-notch gaming experiences that support HD but also impressive multimedia features.
Sony made its introduction in the console game world in the mid-’90s with the PlayStation and again in 2000 with Play Station 2. As expected, the Play Station 3 leaves its predecessors far behind, with gorgeous, HD graphics and a super-fast processor. It carries a higher price tag than the Xbox 360, but at the same time you might find the features it brings to you well worth the extra cost.
The PS3 is available in two configurations: 40GB and 80GB. In addition to the extra storage space, the 80GB game console comes with Motor Storm, a popular off-road racing game exclusive to this console. A very striking feature of this version of PlayStation is its integrated Blu-ray Disc player (BD). If you’re a movie lover and want movies in HD, you might not need another reason to buy this game console. To enjoy excellent video quality of the BD player, pick up an HDMI cable to connect the PlayStation to your HDTV. It also includes an Ethernet cable for a wired Internet connection. With its SIXAXIS wireless controller and in-built web browser, you can surf the Internet and check out the online PlayStation Network. You can also use this to play DVDs and audio CDs, together with copying audio files to the Play Station 3 games hard drive. It sports four USB 2.0 slots, which let you connect your digital camera, download photos, and print them out on a USB printer.
Looking For A New Gaming Console? Why Not Try The Wii?

Who doesn’t love games?!? I don’t think I can name one person who doesn’t enjoy playing video games online or offline, it’s just a fact of life! Between the DS lites and the Xbox 360s there’s no denying that gaming is a large part of a lot of people’s lives. According to market researcher David Cole, who runs the firm DFC Intelligence, his best estimate is that 40 percent of U.S. households own a working video-game console. Michael Pachter, an analyst for Wedbush Morgan Securities, estimates that 52% of households own consoles. Neither Cole nor Pachter is counting handheld devices, such as Nintendo’s Game Boy or Sony’s PlayStation Portable (PSP). Whether it’s 40% or 52% those are still pretty large percentages regarding ownership of gaming consoles! I don’t know about you but, I have at least three major consoles and I just bought a DSlite very recently and I absolutely love it!
The one console I don’t have that I really want is the Wii along with the ifit, once or twice I have played on it with the boxing game and it seems like a really cool wait to not only blow off some steam but only get your heart pumping. As long as you can get past looking like a semi idiot, bouncing around punching; nothing, then you can really get into this game and this console! The Wii is usually pretty expensive even if you manage to buy one on eBay! A few weeks ago I fought for it but stopped at 0. Eventually two people fought and it got sold for 00! Recently however, being the researcher I am, I found a few sites online that allow you to buy Wiis for a really great price, these stores are known as cheap or discount stores. I prefer the word discount because when you say the word “cheap” a lot of people assume it’s of lesser quality which just isn’t the case!

The concept of gaming is although not new to the computer world but it has only recently gained substantial prominence. It has now taken form of a fully fledged industry with a huge fan following and tens of thousands of people associated to it. Gamers throng the streets in advance whenever a new and much hyped about game is scheduled to hit the stores.
Gamers therefore constantly consult game forums to stay abreast with the latest developments in the world of gaming. An online gamers forum is diversified when it comes to content as it can contain reviews, news, previews and release dates of eagerly anticipated video games or about mega events in the world of gaming which attracts gamers from every part of the globe.
A game forum is the place to seek out help if you are stuck at a difficult level playing your favorite game and want to talk about it with other gamers. Looking for cheat codes or perhaps a walkthrough which would simplify things? Or maybe you are seeking information about a certain game that you heard was in the development phase and should have been available for purchase by now! A gamers forum is like a one stop repository for everything a game enthusiast could ask for.
It is not uncommon for gamers to first confer with a gamer forum about the reputation of a game, read reviews of people and critics and observe how they have ranked the game before actually making a purchase. So it can readily be assumed that a reputable game forum can have direct impact on how well or how poorly a game performs.
Is Cloud Gaming Technology Taking Over the Online Gaming World
[ 0 Comments ] Posted on 02.20.11 in Console Games

Cloud is a form of computing technology that is used for video games. Onlive is a games on demand service that specializes in those games that use Cloud technology.
This technology allows you to play any of the games associated with it on television or on your computer. Players no longer have to spend money every time they need a new gaming card for their games console as this technology means that people can play these games without having to use an expensive games console.
Cloud gaming has a large following and there are forums and news sites that are dedicated to this technology and provide players with the latest information on new games. Players can now play games like the popular Crysis on both low definition and high end televisions and computers. With Cloud technology the games are located on a large external server.
The server then sends out sounds and clips of the latest games over the internet so that those people who want to play the games can pick them up. Because the games are processed at lightening speed over the internet you can be playing a game that may only just have been advertised a couple of minutes previously.
Lovers of Cloud technology use the gaming forums to talk about the latest games and the best techniques for playing them. Players can access the latest games once they have activated the browser plug-in and downloaded the free software which is a lot less than you would pay for any of the games consoles on sale..
High Definition Gaming
[ 0 Comments ] Posted on 02.16.11 in Console Games

Console gaming has been going from strength to strength over the last 20 years – from the simple games of consoles like the Saga Mastersystem and Nintendo Entertainment System to the ongoing battle of the mighty Sony Playstation 2 and Microsoft Xbox, each new generation of games and gaming consoles out-doing the previous in graphics, game play and depth.
With the arrival of high definition televisions came the arrival of the latest gaming generation, high definition games consoles. Microsoft released the first console – the Xbox 360 in late 2006, supporting full 1080p HD capabilities whilst keeping backwards-capabilities for normal TV’s.
Then in mid 2007 came Sony’s beast – the Playstation 3. Both consoles were power-houses in their own right, supporting numerous processors running multiple cores allowing for truly staggering results.
As with all consoles the initial games released were ok, the graphics were good and game play also good, but all with a lot of room for improvement – and as the games programmers became more comfortable with the new machines and learnt the techniques the games started improving, not just in game play but in visuals also.
Leading into 2008 and both consoles have a large number of games available, both have dropped in price dramatically and both have evolved through updates to both the operating systems and online networks they run on.
